Without key players like forward Jean-Philippe Mateta and defender Daniel Muñoz, the Eagles left Dublin with a comfortable win that all but secures them a spot in the Conference League qualifying rounds.
A further victory in their next fixture against Finnish KuPS should be enough to secure direct passage to the knockout stages, particularly following a prior setback against Strasbourg.
Fringe Players Grasp the Opportunity
This match provided a chance for several Palace's fringe players to shine. Christantus Uche, making only his second beginning after arriving on loan from Getafe, opened the account with a clinical goal. Striker Eddie Nketiah added a another, scoring for the second game in succession.
A Shelbourne side that had finished their domestic season proved outmatched even for a largely second-string Palace lineup. The Londoners were further depleted by the reports that Mateta and Muñoz are sidelined with leg problems.

In spite of heavy rain in Dublin, Palace quickly established dominance. A flowing move in the 11th minute, sparked by Daichi Kamada's incisive pass, let Nketiah to set up Uche for a straightforward tap-in.
Midfielder Adam Wharton came close minutes later, fizzing a powerful shot over the bar. Nketiah subsequently appealed for a penalty after racing into the area, but the official waved away the protests.

Following the break, manager Oliver Glasner seized the opportunity to rest key individuals like Kamada and Wharton. Substitute Romain Esse almost scoring with his first touch, but saw his effort blocked.
The youngster was desperately unlucky later on, seeing one attempt crash off both posts before being gathered on the line. Uche also missed a sitter of a chance, indicating there is still scope for development in his game.
A solitary concern for Palace was a late knock to Justin Devenny, who limped off. This paved the way for 17-year-old forward Benji Casey to earn his senior debut, capping an otherwise perfect night for the traveling side.
